Current developments in the Berlin & Brandenburg real estate market
Berlin’s attractiveness continues unabated. There is currently no end in sight to the positive price trend in Berlin’s real estate market. With a population of more than 3.7 million, population growth of seven percent since 2014 and persistently low interest rates, the German capital is one of the most sought-after German locations for residential real estate.
Due to the city’s continued popularity and increasing international appeal, the supply of residential space in sought-after Berlin locations is now scarce. This is because singles, couples and also families appreciate the diverse metropolis on the Spree in equal measure. However, the potential for new development in Berlin has not yet been exhausted.
The low vacancy rate of 0.9 % also shows how in demand Berlin is. However, this figure still puts the capital behind other German metropolises such as Hamburg (0.5 %) and Frankfurt am Main (0.2 %).
