Puerto Pollensa (Port de Pollença) is located directly on the sea in the north of the island and is only 7 km from the town of Pollensa. Thanks to tourism development, the former fishing port has become an international hotspot. Due to its good offer of hotels and restaurants, this place is also an attractive destination for families. Along the traffic-calmed waterfront promenade there are numerous restaurants, bars and shops and a long sandy beach with an adjacent marina. During the summer months, boat trips are offered, e.g. to Formentor, and there is also a wide range of water sports including boat hire. Properties range from traditional seafront villas to modern houses and flats, many with sea views. As the village stretches along the coast, the sea can be reached from any point within a few minutes’ walk, as well as supermarkets, banks, etc. The weekly market is held every Wednesday in the church square in the centre of town, where fresh fruit and vegetables are on sale, as well as handicrafts, clothing and flowers. From Puerto Pollensa you can go on beautiful walks in the surrounding area. The Boquer Valley “Vall de Bóquer” deserves special mention.
