    Location and surroundings

    The new development area on Saatwinkler Damm is characterised not only by its modern appearance, but also by its popular and family-friendly location. Siemensstadt is located in the east of the district of Spandau, on the border with Tegel, and boasts beautiful avenues and footpaths along the Spandauer Schifffahrtskanal. The Siemensstadt neighbourhood is named after the new Siemens production facilities that were scattered throughout the city at the end of the 19th century. A residential colony for Siemens employees was planned, which was approved by the district in 1904. Originally called ‘Nonnendamm bei Berlin’, the residential area was renamed ‘Siemensstadt’ in 1914 and is now home to around 13,000 residents. From there you have connections to numerous underground, suburban, regional and long-distance trains.
